Cycling in Italy
Road riding in Italy is like riding no where else on the planet. We’ll ride on quiet roads from hilltop medieval village to hilltop medieval village, on roads originally from the 1100’s, past castles and towers, through some of the world’s most famous vineyards and, of course, always taking time to enjoy a cappuccino along the way. The areas in which we ride are steeped in cycling heritage as one world champion calls the area home and many professional bike racing teams ride the roads we’ll be riding for spring training camp.
If you’re an accomplished rider or haven’t been on a bike in a while, our guides will tailor the riding to each group’s capabilities so you’ll be riding with kindred spirits on matched terrain. We’ll also provide expert instructions for all levels.
- For beginners we’ll teach you gearing, climbing, descending and cornering. If you haven’t been on a bike in a while, don’t worry, you won’t be alone. We’ll help you get your wheels under you again with supportive instruction from accomplished riders. Most beginning riders leave with a rekindled dedication to themselves and to riding.
- For intermediate and above riders we’ll help with climbing, cornering at speed, riding in groups, drafting and the care and feeding of yourself and your bike on long rides.
Your days will be packed filled with the sights, smells and tastes of Tuscany. You’ll catch yourself asking what makes this area so magical. Is it the perfect road conditions, the medieval villages we ride through, the rich earth of the vineyards, what you had for dinner last night, the heart-warming light, the mystical cypress trees, or the chocolate hazelnut gelato? And you’ll say yes.
