Wine Tasting
Wine is rumored to have been around since as long ago as 6,000 B.C. and for good reason.  Wine mingles together the culture, earth, history, passion, beauty and everything delicious about a region, gives each time to get to know one another and at the end provides us with a treat for our souls and our senses.  

Tuscany, Italy:  We’ll be riding though some of the most famous vineyards in Europe as we make our way through the land of the Super Tuscan wines.  The land around Bolgheri is world renown and has brought some of Italy’s best wine makes to the region.  This is home to Sassicaia, Ornellia and Gaia and some fantastic local vintners.  We will also visit the Val d’Orcia, home to the famous Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano; two more Super Tuscans. 

We’ll taste vines in both regions in small local settings.  We’ll also sample some of the local vines with our meals and have the opportunity to order from the local wine list at dinner.  Whether you’re a novice or a Master Sommelier, everyone comes to appreciate the world renown reputation of this unique region of the world.

Healdsburg, California:  Nestled in the heart of Sonoma County, Healdsburg is ground zero (along with Napa) for California vines.  Sonoma is located in the picturesque valley between Napa and the wild Pacific and produces some of the best Zinfandels and Pinots on the planet.  We’ll be staying just outside of Healdsburg in the heart of the Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Russian River Valley wine appellations. 

Sonoma is home to La Crema, Rosenblum, Chalk Hill, Dry Creek and other big names we’ll be riding and walking by these wineries and tasting rooms.  We’ll have plenty of time to stop along some rides and have carved out and afternoon to stroll the quaint streets of Healdsburg and its many tasting rooms.  We’re in the heart of the California wine country, surrounded by the beauty and rich earth which inspires these world class vintners.
